Thermoforming is the process in which a thermoplastic sheet is heated to its particular processing temperature, then formed against the contours of a mold by mechanical or pneumatic means. The thermoplastic is held to the shape of the mold and allowed to cool. The plastic will then retain the shape and the detail of the mold. Thermoforming is very cost effective for short runs (less than 1000 a year).

MEI has been providing its customers custom vacuum and pressure formed plastic components for over twenty years. MEI performs close tolerance CNC trimming on all molded parts to ensure a precise and consistent fit. MEI has built a reputation of providing simple to complex thermoformed components.
